Al Mohler painted some images over and over and over. It must have been because of demand. The trapper’s cabin, Lily Lake and the bear coming over the log are common images. Also, the size of the can vary. Every once in a while, a very large slab or hardboard piece shows up. These are unusual and desirable. A couple pieces came to mind. Recently, we acquired a bear slab that is 43” across and a mallards rising off the water that is 39” across. They are unusually large sizes. Then there is a deer on hardboard that is 48” across and one of the largest deer scenes we have seen.
Unusual pieces include images that we do not see all that often, or one of a kinds. Many of these pieces were likely only done one time. We have been told many times by people that they made a specific request of Mr. Mohler, and he did the piece specifically for them. One scene that comes to mind is a scene he did for a couple based on a photo they took when they were in Europe.
We like them all, and decided to share some of these new and different works of Al Mohler.
